Imagine If The Way We Now Live Became Redundant interview on Spotify with Karl Smith inventor of UbiNET

UbiNET use cases Imagine If The Way We Now Live Became Redundant

Ari Abraham from Philosophie Group Inc. Santa Monica, California talks to Karl Smith, a consultant, and innovator who has said in the past “My desire was not to build things that humans already do but to find out how technology could evolve our human experience.” Ari and Karl dig into some of his wins, his fails, and the adventure of having a storied history of projects all centered around the human experience.

In the first part of this interview Karl describes some successes some failures giving examples from projects he has worked on.

In the second part of the interview Karl Smith describes some of the use cases for UbiNET. The first implementation of UbiNET should be in FMCG with a focus on product lifecycle (creation to recycling) management, removal of the grey product economy (no more fake products of any kind). In the second version UbiNET becomes a transaction system with a daily mutating encryption to uniquely identify buyer and products.

#11 – Imagine If The Way We Now Live Became Redundant

UbiNET Smart Living IoT3

UbiNET Smart Living Platform Use Cases

The UbiNET platform is a unified framework that considers all aspects of future living and is intended to deliver solutions that move humanity on from dealing with mundane transactional activities into Smart Living where these transactions are hidden behind the scenes. The system provides absolute identity of everything, absolute ownership and absolute value.

Below are several use cases;

Ownership – when an item is purchased it becomes added to several new ecosystems through its embedded micro sensor; individual, family, community

While it may be considered that as resources become more scarce ownership will become much reduced and shared resources more common (including telecommunication devices like mobile phones) as profile identities become portable however ownership will continue to be a focus for some time. The adoption, usage and recycling of material and energy of every item will become more and more critical to the world over time.

Recycling – an item lifecycle is monitored from creation to recycling, items that are not recycled retain a relationship with their last individual owner or other structure like business/organisation.

Unfortunately the notion of law is for some an imposition on them rather than the glue of society where they consider their choice to be destructive a right, it’s not. Rights are created by societies and their boundaries agreed in societies underwritten by laws and law enforcement. The UbiNET platform is agnostic on by who and how societies laws are enforced only that citizens should be accountable for their actions to the society they live in and affect. One key accountability is recycling and the full lifecycle of products. While this may seem invasive its already highly common for consumers to give this data to stores as part of the purchase transaction where they are rewarded with loyalty points. The stores in turn utilise this data for product manufactures and to understand store dynamics.

Identity and Value – items that are not recognized as being part of an ecosystem may not join one. Without full lifecycle data, the item will be considered to have no value, fraudulent or stolen.

Absolute identity of items creates huge value to consumers and businesses alike, it removes all fake goods from the supply chain and establishes brand and product trust. For business the benefits are clear by removing fake products that damage their brands or create a risk to consumers. Many people will think of handbags with this, yes but what about fake airplane parts or baby milk? While these items can be traced, businesses who make them can also be traced.

By using an inverse data analysis, a home or other place can detect a person that has no recognizable items and consider them a threat. They will not be allowed access and become the focus of Law Enforcement.

Personal and family security continue to be a major issue, the absolute identity of everything will also include people (concerned about human rights, read on). The right to be anonymous has never existed in any society. Since the 1950’s governments have focused on identifying its citizens, the difference with UbiNET is it identifies everyone. It does this through the micro sensors embedded in everyones clothing which will be different each day (we can’t share how this works for obvious reasons) and our twin AI blockchain. Suffice to say the UbiNET creates a proactive security net over the areas in which it is deployed.

Usage – two items in common use are guns and bullets, although an advanced sensor would be required is would be possible to create zones where bullets would not fire from guns as UbiNET would instruct the bullet to fail. There are a number of complexities around this use case, however given the complexity of building bullets even self-loader ammunition can have sensors added to the ignition cap.

This last use case involves Generation 2 of sensors, which we have not even started designing yet however the concept is sound based upon the deployment of UbiNET.

The above use cases are just the start, we already have financial services and medical use cases not listed which will be in our white paper for our crowdfunding launch of ThingCoin see ThingCoin as a SAFT release schedule now in tranche 1.

UbiNET AI Blockchain

UbiNET Update

UbiNET Inc is an IoT 3 Smartliving Platform company that links organic and inorganic items on a planet wide unique identity system, it uses proprietary technologies including a twin AI blockchain and is operated in accordance with the secondary handshake Open Network Ecosystem Protocol ONEP.

The UbiNET platform has many use cases one is the removal of all counterfeit products through the full lifecycle management of everything from Creation to Recycling.

Open Network Ecosystem Protocol “covers the use of a secondary handshake through the central registration of all items. This registration is both distributed and localized and cannot be edited (existing in real-time) but can be added to, to establish the current; status, location and identification of any item. This is an extension of the current network paradigms on two fronts one to confirm identity of all network items and two to move this identification beyond technology based items into remote data about all items that are in the creation to recycling lifecycle” excerpt from patent.

The platform has a number of components;

  1. Operational definition described in the Open Network Ecosystem Protocol ONEP, which defines the lightweight data architecture used and its ability to absorb existing Closed IoT 1 and IoT 2 systems data (see descriptions here). ONEP also includes the operational characteristics for each network;
    1. Personal area network (PAN)
    2. Local area network (LAN)
    3. Metropolitan area network (MAN)
    4. Wide area network (WAN)
  2. Twin private Blockchain balanced and verified through AI, that monitors individual users daily mutating identity key for ‘is present’ and ‘is not present’ transactions.
  3. Embedded micro sensor technology that uses ambient power so that everything organic and inorganic can have a sensor.

In the last six years we have been able to take the concepts from the self building data architecture and transaction history of BitCoin in Blockchain and create our own Blockchain called Ubi.

Ubi is a next generation blockchain that firstly does not use existing codebases associated with blockchain. Ubi is based on Object Oriented Programming that ultimately lends itself to micro services and an API marketplace where companies will be able to engage with Ubi but not through its source code.

There are still a number of limiting factors which are dramatically impacting the ability of UbiNET to be launched;

  1. 5G was expected to have a near unlimited number of connections through the use of MIMO (multiple input, multiple output), unfortunately limits of one hundred billion have been discussed at the 5G Forum at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2017. This would dramatically limit the use of the system to just 100,000 participants.
  2. There are problems in scaling the blockchain, even by using virtualisation technologies like cloud computing and the light weight nature on ONEP latency could be an issue. due to the vast volumes of transactions and related data calls. Even in cloud computing there are servers and they need to be located somewhere to build a planet wide server system we have investigated on land, undersea and space based farms and don’t have a solution. The use of third party vendors has been ruled out do to access to the source code.

Given no immediate resolution to these impediments our rollout date for UbiNET of 2022 is being put back to 2030.

UbiNET AI Blockchain

#UbiNET twin #AI #Blockchain with mutating #security #algorithm

UbiNET platform architecture is built on two key components;

  • a twin blockchain written in an AI codebase called UBI (originally based on Prolog with attributes of .NET) developed specifically for UbiNET
  • a mutating security algorithm derived from the unique platform functional architecture

By interlinking the security algorithm derived from every transaction only the next ordered AI Blockchain knows what the structure of an acceptable contract is.

UbiNET Florida

UbiNET Inc. expands into Florida

UbiNET Inc. has recently opened it’s start up office in St Petersburg, Florida. The company expects to launch it’s first funding round in 2018 as the technology to deliver the UbiNET.

“We choose Florida because of the rich source of engineers with data-mart and secure networking experience from defence IoT, aerospace, space exploration and financial services” CEO Karl Smith

UbiNET Inc. is a diverse company with it’s Innovation and Strategy coming from Scotland and it’s Creative Direction from London and as it evolves it’s engineering backbone will be based in Florida.

“Florida has the best network engineers on the planet” CEO Karl Smith

City

#Rural #UltraBroadband signals the end of a focus on #Cities instead #LiveSmart

One of the essential requirements for the IoT is integrated and distributed networks, until recently the only way possible to deliver this was either in cities with their high fidelity infrastructure or on a peer-to-peer mobile network using 4G. With the inception of recycled infrastructure by companies like Huawei and the deployment on 5G in 2020 cities cease to afford the benefits required to absorb the huge costs of their use.

The prediction of #Smart #Business is #Smarter not locating to a #SmartCity in 2016 by UbiNET CEO Karl Smith make the clear case of;

Why do we need cities?

They create centralization of people and resources however they also drive costs as often space is insufficient for demand. There is a huge dependency on the need for workspace, shops and local living accommodation.

Lets not buildSmart Cities, lets Live Smart instead

No City Smart Business

In a #SmartEconomy with people engaged in #SmartLiving people rely on digital communications not face to face engagements. Unless direct physical contact with another person is required for your job you don’t need to be physically present. Most work can be distributed to multiple locations across the planet. Even specialist surgeons can now work remotely and have been doing so for some time, even surgery can now be done through a physical / virtual interface.

Summary

The cost of creating Smart Cities is huge and relates to infrastructure for jobs and services that won’t be required in the mid term, they will not make a profit and may even not cover their cost of creation and installation.

The Smart solution is a distributed model not a centralized one

Creating these types of services takes a huge investment and without the confirmation of a captive customer base, it should be interesting to see how capital can be raised and who will take this risk.

UbiNET AI Blockchain

UbiNET issues two cryptocurrencies the #ThingCoin and #UbiNET Token

As part of the platform development process for #SmartLiving UbiNET Inc. has launched two cryptocurrencies the ThingCoin and UbiNET Token. The two currencies work together within the platform to both secure identity and enable transactions.

thingcoin cryptocurrency coinUbiNET Token is the user access token for the UbiNET platform and ThingCoin is the transaction currency within UbiNET.

We have only issued a limited number of access tokens and transaction coins at this point to test the ecosystem and evolve a number of market propositions, say’s CEO and Chief Scientist Karl Smith

The UbiNET platform is reliant on several technologies including, micro sensors that use ambient power, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, 5G and artificial intelligence as defined in the Open Network Ecosystem Protocol patent and won’t launch until they are all aligned.

We have not ruled out an ICO to create the funding for a city state test of UbiNET but we want to be sure that investors gain a benefit before we move in that direction, we are reviewing several funding options at this stage but will continue to use our consultancy profits until real value can be offered to investors, say’s CEO Karl Smith

Pi-UbiNET

UbiNET Inc. has incorporated as a subsidiary of Agile World

Last week Agile World created a new subsidiary UbiNET Inc. set up as a stock corporation to support several funding rounds to deliver it’s global technology, data and service platform. This change in strategy is due to an over subscription for Series A investment which has created a focus on investors outcomes.

The formation of UbiNET Inc. will have no immediate impact on staffing and facilities but it is intended to focus R&D on the open network ecosystem protocol already filed at USPO.

The CEO of Agile World Karl Smith described this change as “it’s fundamental that we have the business structures in place to enable investors to have clarity around their participation” further “having worked in global M&A and with VC funded start-up’s, I recognise that a good idea needs to be supported by and understanding of how to facilitate investment, engagement and exit”.

Further details will be published here.
